1st Trip Of This Year

Well i got my boat out on the water for first time this year since i just bought it. got to the lake and went to pump up the primer bulb and the fuel line broke, that sucked. but their was a bait shop less than a quarter mile away, bought a new line and was on the water within 20 minutes. tried out the fish finders, live well, bilge pump and all that happy stuff and everything worked very well. cruised the lake for awhile just to check it out and warm up the motor, wind was out of the north about 22 miles an hour so that also sucked, found out that i need better anchors and also a drift sock. but this is the main reason to take the boat out was to see what it needed. eventually did manage to get the poles in the water to do some fishing. charted some fish on the fish finders and drifted the boat around, did get a bite and missed my first bite of the season. that is how it goes. had a few smaller bites but the fish were just short hitting the baits. So didn't catch any fish today but that will hopefully change once the weather stabilizes here in kansas, it was 27 degrees this morning and only about 60 by mid afternoon so i know the water did not warm up much. All in all it was an o.k day on the water with 2 friends and the boat didn't sink.
