Well went on another fishing trip to webster lake today, got out there at about 2pm. went directly to the west end becaucse the fishing report said they were catching channel cat on shad on the west end. tried that for about an hour or so with shad sides and worms, did not have a single bite there. went over to one of our favorite areas for wipers and absolutely nothing there. tried trolling and casting jigs and diving lures along the dam because the reports also said that they were catching wipers and some walleye there. same old story nothing, continued fishing for several more hours using various baits and techniques and still nothing. Not sure if the water temp is still a factor or what because it is still around 55 degress. did talk to several people but all they caught was just a few small white bass that weren't big enough for keepers, they were catching them using minnows in shallow water. Once again even though we didn't catch anything it was still fun. It was a good day on the water, light winds and the boat once again ran good.
The ranking score is used to determine how "popular" a trip or location is. It is calculated based off of a weighted average of the number of reviews and the user ratings. For example, a trip with 2 reviews and an average rating of 5 will have a lower "ranking score" than one with 10 reviews and an average rating of 4. This is because even though the first trip has a better average rating, it has not been reviewed as much as the second trip, so it is not as "popular". In the future we may modify the ranking score to take in additional factors, such as the number of views, comments, and photos.
